News update
Kasabian to appear at Victoria Park
Today’s Leicester Mercury web site reports that Kasabian is to perform at a Festival planned to take place on Victoria Park in the summer of 2014. The festival is being planned by Live Nation. The band’s performance is said to be on 21st June 2014.
Leicester City Council’s planning committee agreed with Live Nation to cut the event down to one day, following complaints from residents about noise and traffic.
The event is now being marketed as a ‘Kasabian gig’ rather than as a festival and is being described on ticketing web site as Kasabian Summer Solstice.
A hearing for the licence took place overseen by the city’s council yesterday (November 25) morning. Live Nation faced objections from a handful of local residents.
But now the company has been granted a licence for the gig, with Kasabian set to be preceeded by a run of support acts reports Music Week.
According to Ticketmaster ‘The Event is not suitable for young children. Children under 5 (Aged 4 or below) are NOT permitted at Kasabian: Summer Solstice. Children under 14 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (18 or over) at all times.’ Special tickets are being made available for spectators requiring access for people with disabilities.
City residents tickets with postcode’s commencing LE1, LE7 and LE2 1 are available on a first come first served basis until Friday, December 6.
Leicester’s own Kasabian, one of the UK’s biggest and best bands, are set to play a massive headline show at Victoria Park in Leicester on Saturday 21st June 2014. Without doubt, this will be one of the highlights of next year.
