Chasing Cadence
at The Shed on Friday
Dreaming In Colour Productions present one of its regular Upstair/Downstairs events at The shed on Friday 31st July.
Several bands played that night and Kevin Gaughan was there to take photographs.
Here is a slideshow of the bands that he photographed.
The headline show upstairs was taken by Hertford band Chasing Cadence. In a set that fizzed with stage presence and energetic playing, the band put on a remarkably good performance. I think just about everyone commented on how good they were
We saw them when they played in Leicester in June 2013.
Downstairs we saw iSurrender playing a set of highly engaging cover songs as well as some of their own compositions. We saw this band at the Glastonbudget festival, earlier this year. Tonight iSurrender gave another fine performance. Reviewing them at the festival we said:
Today they stuck me as being a band that was made to be entertaining. Their lead singer Ben put in a resoundingly good performance, both vocally and on the guitar, and their rendition of Jonny Be Good was exceptional (I often cringe when I hear young bands attempt this iconic rock classic) and for once I really did enjoy listening to it – they smashed it like no other. This is a band that really does know how to cover a great song. I Surrender left the stage with the audience shouting for more. [Music in Leicester]
Tonight the band lived up to their reputation for being good at playing music, good at singing and good at presenting themselves well on stage.

Leicester band Dig Lazarus put on a resoundingly good set. Watch out for a forthcoming feature article about this band. They played a few days earlier at the Simon Says… festival, where their set on the Indoor stage of the De Montfort Hall was well received.
