Pop/rock band Lawson is coming to Leicester
London pop/rock band Lawson is coming to the DeMontfort Hall in Leicester on 2nd October 2013.
Not the first time the band has played in Leicester but this will be one of the stops in the band’s current UK tour.
We asked Lawson’s Joel Peat to tell us about the band.
The members of the band are
Andy Brown
Ryan Fletcher
Joel Peat
Adam pitts
Joel told us that Lawson are to release a new single called Juliet on 13th October
Lawson has been getting out there for over six years and in that time they have supported bands such as The Police and Fall Out Boy and have played at Wembley stadium to a crowd of 80 thousand.
At this year’s V festival they were on the 4Music stage. Joel told us “it was cool. Good fun. We played to a lot of new people who had not seen us before and won them over.”
Joel told me that Andy Brown was the song-writer for the band. Having checked some of their songs, I really liked Lawson’s music. My favourite is Standing In the Dark which is on YouTube.
I asked Joel which other UK bands Lawson liked: he said “The Script and Paighton, among others.” Lawson is setting out on its Every We Go tour which starts on 30th September, in Doncaster.
From there they go to Bristol and then arrive in Leicester, on 2nd October. Supporting Lawson at the DeMontfort Hall will be Midlands band Paighton, Hertfordshire pop/rock band Room 94 and Swedish singer Andreas Moe. I asked Joel about the Leicester gig: he said “We are really looking forward to it. I remember we played at the Musician in Leicester back in 2009, so hopefully some people will remember us from then. Yeah, we are really excited about.”
