Described as “bewitching acid folk with a deeply personal edge” by Clash magazine and “the young narrator of her own magical-malevolent fantasies” by The Guardian, Danish folk songstress Ida Wenøe has been turning heads in the European music scene. Despite the obvious strong influences of new wave Americana, Wenøe maintains her Nordic undertones and provides a melancholic pop narrative reminiscent of the likes of Lana Del Rey and Bon Ivor.
Support on the evening comes from Leicestershire’s own Fay Brotherhood. A powerfully deep singer songwriter, Fay delivers her songs of life, love, and the earth with the perfect balance of passion and perfection.
What a wonderful way to spend an Easter Sunday evening.
Ida Wenøe + Fay Brotherhood play Sunday 21st April at The Musician, Clyde Street. Doors from 8pm. Advance tickets are priced at £10 and are available from Ticketweb
