We love a free gig here at ‘Music in Leicester’ and this one is our pick of February’s offerings. With a wit that is as sharp as his guitar skills, wily wordsmith Paddy Hodgkinson is well known in the Leicester music season. Playing the perfect mix acoustic blues and sweet English folk, it easy to tell that Paddy is a seasoned veteran of the stage. He immediately brings the crowd into his world and by the end of the gig, has them eating out the palm of his hand.
Joining Paddy on the night is Czech virtuoso violinist Veronica Hanko. With a finesse and awareness far beyond her years, Veronica is a joy to watch. A strange pairing perhaps, but don’t the oddest of bedfellows often produce the sweetest sounds? Playing in the cosy, intimate atmosphere of Queen’s Road’s Rosebud Bar, what a lovely way to spend a Sunday evening.
Paddy & Veronica play Sunday 10th February at The Rosebud, Queen’s Rd. Admission is FREE and the music starts at 7pm.
